Remko Koopmans @ GO Gallery

Remko Koopman (Leiden, 1974) started writing graffiti in the mid 80’s under the pseudonym SCAGE and was part of the first wave of graffiti artists who gained national and international recognition. In 1998 Koopman graduated from the Royal Academy of Art The Hague as a graphic designer. Together with artist Tamme de Boer he formed artcollective Booyabase from 2006 untill 2012. As a duo they were specialized in mural paintings in public space. Technical and conceptual intensification followed and his work moved further into the field of autonomic art. In 2013 and 2015 his paintings where shown in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag as part of the summer exhibitions ‚Earth’ and ‚Ferocious’.
